It has been a long time since I have written to you and boy do I have a lot to report on!
To begin with and keep the update nice and fresh for all;
2012 started off with a Brainstorm bang! (a good one!) I was fortunate enough (and persistant enough :P) to land a 9 month acting contract (amazing for any actors dreams!) with Brainstorm Productions doing educational theatre focussing on anti-bullying in schools across QLD, NSW and Canberra.
Basically my touring partner and I, the very talented Zach Smith, tour around in our Brainstorm car aptly named "Daffy" taking our set, smiles and performance to both primary and high schools.
We work 5 days a week travelling across the country and create smiles (and sometimes groans from the teenagers ;) for the kids! We perform both "The Human Race" and "Verbal Combat". I enjoy both shows, but particulary our high school shows are I get to play 2 very opposing characters who's existance is defined by their friends. It's really cementing my love of performing drama.
It has been an amazing experience so far. I am being paid to work my acting skills everyday! I am enjoying the audience interaction but am definitely inspired to continue my pursuit for film and tv when the tour comes to an end.
I would personally like to thank all at Brainstorm for this amazing opportunity!
Secondly, it's very interesting thinking back to when I first moved to Sydney; the highs, the lows....missing friends and family, feeling isolated, alone...but the best part is...I got through it!
I guess that is what I am learning more and more each day;
Life is never steady; it will peak and it will dip, the wind will blow and the skies will pour, but at the end of the day it's what you make of it that determines you're destiny.
Too the stars and beyond!
"I'll shoot for the stars, I'll reach for the heavens, and if I miss at least I'll land on the moon!"
Happy Easter everyone and never stop dreaming.
